“My name is Taylor Hagen. I’m a member of the Ironflame Tribe.”

The woman’s eyes flicked to the tablet before she spoke again. “You will come with us.”

I raised an eyebrow. Though I had anticipated something like this, the sheer audacity caught me off guard. It wasn’t a request—it was a demand, as though my compliance was a foregone conclusion.

But I kept my tone polite. “And may I ask who you are?”

“My name is Sobe,” the woman said without hesitation, “and we are members of the Steel Raven Tribe.”

I bowed slightly. “Nice to meet you, Sobe. But I must apologize—I’m not a resident of this planet. As you can see, I’m a space explorer. My ship crashed here by accident,” I said, motioning toward the Horizon Drift behind us. “My only goal is to repair my ship and return to my home planet.”

Sobe barely acknowledged my words. “If you come with us, we’ll help you repair your ship,” she offered.

Lamia, who had been quiet until now, exploded in anger. “Who do you think you are, making demands—”

I raised a hand, cutting her off before she could say anything further. I didn’t want to escalate the situation just yet. “Thank you for the offer,” I replied evenly. “But my ship is nearly fully repaired, so I don’t think that will be necessary.”

Lamia grinned at that, a smug smile spreading across her face. The others—Ruby, Rumi, Hannah and Larpis—stood a little straighter, their confidence clearly bolstered.

But Sobe’s expression remained unchanged.
